MEDICAL CORPS BIDS FAREWELL TO MAJ GEN PAC FERNANDO USP

Maj Gen PAC Fernando USP was accorded with the Ceremonial Parade at the Regimental Centre on 03 Oct 2024 in respect of his over 34 years of invaluable service to the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps. He is due to retire from the Sri Lanka Army on 05 Oct 2024.

Maj Gen PAC Fernando USP enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army on 15 November 1990, and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and joined the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps and served over 34 years of untarnished service in his career in the Army. He has actively participated many operations with his medical team. Except that he has served in many part of the country and holds many prestigious appointments including Director General of the Army Health Services and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps.

Maj Gen PAC Fernando USP was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant Brigadier WAUS Wanasekara RWP USP on his arrival to the Corps Headquarters. He inspected the guard turnout and thereafter, he was accorded with the Ceremonial Parade at the Regimental Headquarters pared ground. Then Regimental Sergeant Major invited the outgoing Senior Officer for the tea organized by the all ranks. After having the tea, the street linings consist of All Officers and Other Ranks greeted as "Jaya Sri" for the retiring Maj Gen PAC Fernando USP.

In the evening, Mess Night Hosted to Mrs Dr Nilmini Fernando and Maj Gen PAC Fernando USP at the Officers’ Mess with a large gathering of Officers including Colonel Commandant Maj Gen DKSK Dolage USP psc, The Colonel Commandant presented a memento to Maj Gen PAC Fernando USP for the valuable service rendered to the Sri lanka Army Medical Corps.
