MAJOR GENERAL K M P S B KULATUNGA RSP ndc psc ASSUMES DUTIES AS THE 15TH COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE SLAMC

Major General K M P S B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc assumed duties as the 15th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) on 27th June 2025 and it was marked by religious ritual and formal military traditions.

The incoming Colonel Commandant was warmly received by the Centre Commandant SLAMC upon his arrival. He inspected the Guard Turnout and thereafter, he was accorded with the Guard of Honour at the Regimental Centre parade ground. A brief religious ceremony was conducted to invoke blessings for his new appointment at the Colonel Commandant’s Office.

The newly appointed Colonel Commandant signed an official document, symbolizing the formal acceptance of office at an auspicious moment in the midst of pirith chanting. As a mark of his assumption of duties, a sapling of Mango was planted at the camp premises.

Subsequently, the Colonel Commandant addressed the Officers and the Other Ranks emphasizing his aim and objectives and intended plans for the enhancement of the Regiment’s spirit de corps, quality of medical services, training and administrative functions and professional career development of Officers and Other Ranks. The new Colonel Commandant concluded the day’s programme with All Ranks refreshment at ORs’ Mess at Regimental Centre - SLAMC.
