The Officers' Training Day Programme, conducted by the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry is a pivotal initiative designed to enhance the professional development, leadership and tactical skills of Officers serving in the Sri Lanka Army. This comprehensive training programme aims to provide officers with the necessary tools to lead with competence, make informed decisions in dynamic situations and excel in operational settings.
The training session began in the morning with a physical training schedule, followed by a timely lecture on the topic of 'India-Pakistan Ongoing Crisis' by Brigadier TWGDM Amarasinghe RWP psc. Thereafter, 7 SLLI and 12 SLLI conducted presentations on Operation Kaddaparichchan and the Nandikadal Lagoon Operation and Rescue of Civilians during the Humanitarian Operation respectively.
The day’s proceedings concluded with an informative lecture by Prof. Raj Somadeva on The Evolution of Sri Lankan Military Strategy from the Era of King Ravana to Contemporary Defence Forces during the Diners’ Club at the Officers’ Mess. The Officers’ Training Day ended successfully, having enriched and inspired Sri Lanka Light Infantry Officers in their professional development towards glory and success.
The Commander Security Forces Jaffna and the Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Major General Manada Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Council members, Centre Commandant and 127 Officers including Senior Officers, Commanding Officers and Officers who are performing the duties at the Extra Regiment Employments participated for the Officers’ Training Day at Sri Lanka Light Infantry.
