Under the guidance of the Commander of Security Forces (Jaffna) and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, and with the supervision of the Chairperson of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Darshanee Yahampath, a housing project has been initiated to support Other Ranks currently in active service and civil members working under the SLLI regiment and its battalions who have not completed the construction of their houses.
This initiative is jointly supported by the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch through financial assistance, while the respective battalions provide labour support to ensure the successful completion of the houses.
As part of the fourth phase of the project, a newly constructed house for civil member F/12808 Labor Class III SS Hemantha was ceremonially declared open on 16 May 2025 by the President of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch.The occasion was graced by senior members of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch, along with Deputy Centre Commandant RHQ SLLI, senior officers, the commanding officer and Other Ranks from the 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, who was supported to complete the house.
