SRI LANKA LIGHT INFANTRY COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT VISITS 1 SLLI

Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces Jaffna and the Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment made his first official visits to 1 SLLI on 02 January 2025 upon assumption of duties as the 18th Colonel of the Regiment of SLLI.

Lieutenant Colonel EALC Edirisinghe RSP SLLI the Commanding Officer of 1 SLLI, received the Colonel of the Regiment with great respect upon his arrival at the Battalion. During this visit, the Colonel of the Regimental addressed the troops and explained the nature of the duties of all ranks and the duties assigned to each ranks and the importance of maintaining the safety of their jobs. He also explained the scope of a soldier's duties and how they should act, how to properly use the laws of personal safety, the effects of drug abuse and the threats it poses to their family and work, how to properly manage their monthly salary as a disciplined soldier and the importance of treating their parents with respect and its consequences. He also conveyed the importance of not committing any act that would harm the honor and reputation of the Army and the value of being a professional soldier in the Army and wished all the officers and other ranks of the battalion good luck for their future.

Furthermore, during this visit, the Colonel of the Regiment made a commemorative note in visitors’ Book and concluded his visit to the battalion. The Regimental Center Commandant also participated to this visit.
