SLLI COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT VISITS BATTALIONS

Major General TJ Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) paid a second time formal visits to the 6, 15, 24 and 5(v) SLLI Battalions on 09th and 10th December 2021.

Upon his arrival, respective Commanding Officers warmly welcomed the visiting Colonel of the Regiment in accordance with military traditions before briefings were presented. Guard Turnouts saluted him at respective camps and he joined sapling planting too afterwards. Thereafter, the visiting Colonel of the Regiment addressed the troops and instructed them to lead their career with best of discipline and professionalism. During his visit the Colonel of the Regiment esteemed the accomplishments attained by the battalions in numerous aspects.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of preserving good discipline amongst all ranks to obtain work life balance and satisfaction in both workplace and family life. After a while, Colonel of the Regiment discussed the matters related to the ongoing projects of Battalions to ensure the continuity of development processes. He also, highlighted the issues faced by contemporary Officers and Soldiers due to drug addictions, Illegal businesses and other abusive activities which directly resulted to degrade the reputation and goodwill of the Sri Lanka Army. The Colonel of the Regiment strained the necessity of abstaining from unnecessary activities and fulfilling the professionalism by enhancing knowledge and skills. Finally, he delivered a valuable speech regarding the way forward strategy 2020-2025. The Centre Commandant of RHQ SLLI Brigadier TCK Peries RWP RSP and staff officers of RHQ SLLI were present during the events.
