A SERIES OF MEMORIAL CHARITY PROGRAMME WERE HELD AT THE ANURADHAPURA ATAMASTHANA FOR THE FALLEN HEROES

The noble concept of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, and the Chairperson of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Darshanee Yahampath, a memorial charity event took place at the Atamasthana in Anuradhapura on 1 August 2025, to commemorate and pay tribute to the unmarried heroic soldiers of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment who sacrificed their lives for protecting the sovereignty of the country the event war held with the participation of parents and family members of the fallen war heroes.

An arms-giving event was organised at the Abayagiri Temple, and all the parents of the war heroes and their family members who participated in this religious programme also took part in a pilgrimage to the Atamasthana on 02 August 2025. The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), the Honourable Chairperson and senior members of the Seva Vanitha branch of the SLLI, the Centre Commandant, and senior officers attended the programme.

Furthermore, during the breaks in this series of religious programmes, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) and the Honourable chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the SLLI engaged in friendly conversations with the parents of the valiant war heroes regarding the difficulties those parents were facing and the welfare activities that needed to be implemented for their betterment.
