SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR GRADE 5 SCHOLARSHIP HOLDERS

The direction and guidance of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Major General Y A B M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc and under the close supervision of Mrs Darshani Yahampath, the President of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch, a special programme was organised on 19 September 2025 to honour academic excellence.

The event focused on the distribution of school items and gift vouchers to 50 children of serving and retired officers/Other Ranks, as well as civil employees of the Sri Lanka Light Regiment, who had successfully passed the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination in 2023.

This initiative was implemented with financial contributions and coordination by the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch. Additionally, Mr. Himeth Mendis and Mr. Disath Mendis generously extended their support, helping to empower the young achievers as they prepare to shape the future.

The event was graced by the presence of the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, senior members, donors, and senior officers, including the Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regimental Centre, reflecting the collective commitment to nurturing the educational aspirations of the next generation.
