HOUSING PROJECT FOR ACTIVE SERVICE WAR HEROES IMPLEMENTED BY SLLI
Under the guidance of the Commander of Security Forces (Jaffna) and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, and with the supervision of the Chairperson of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Darshanee Yahampath, a housing project has been initiated to support war heroes currently in active service who have not completed the construction of their houses.
This initiative is jointly supported by the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch through financial assistance, while respective battalions provide labor support to ensure the successful completion of the houses.
As part of the second phase of the project, the newly constructed house for S/17D00388 WO II Dissanayake KMNB was ceremonially declared open on 12 January 2025 by the Commanding Officer of the 17th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry. The occasion was graced by senior members of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch, along with Senior Officers and Other Ranks from the Regimental Centre and the 17th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry.
