Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry visits 10th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry at Palinagar

The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc conducted a formal visit to the 10th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry at Palinagar on 26 July 2025.

Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel DNT De Zoysa WWV RWP RSP SLLI and all ranks of the battalion have offered a warm welcome to the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army . By commencing the formalities, the Commanding Officer conducted a briefing to give an overview of it’s respective AOR, role, tasks and administrative matters.

Thereafter, the Colonel of the Regiment formally addressed the troops at the battalion lecture hall. During his thought-provoking address, it was highlighted on the necessity of ensuring overall discipline and professionalism as military men while maintaining highest levels of physical and morale standards. After the address, in commemoration of this special visit a plaque has been presented to the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army by the Commanding Officer and Regimental Sargeant Major representing all ranks of the battalion.

Then the Colonel of the Regiment formally did the sapling of 'Sandalwood' tree at the battalion premises to solidify the visit that followed by a group photograph with all Officers and Senior Non commissioned Officers of the 10th Battalion.

Further, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry conducted an inspection visit around the camp premises covering all operational, administrative and logistic facilities. While overseen the functioning of Battalion he emphasized on the comprehensive security arrangements and the necessity of maintaining the maximum operational readiness.

Brigadier WKSPMRAB Dodamwela psc, the Center Commandant of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment and the General Staff Officer 1 (Operations) of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Lieutenant Colonel DK Kaluwadeva RSP SLLI also attended to the visit.
