The Inter Battalion Battle Physical Training Competition – 2025 of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) was successfully held from 21 to 25 July 2025 at the Regimental Centre in Ambepussa. The event featured rigorous contests including a 2-mile run and battle obstacle crossing, designed to test the physical endurance and combat readiness of participating battalions. The final round, held on 25 July 2025, was organized in a specially designed format to ensure a fair and competitive selection of the overall champion.
The event was graced by Major General J K R Jayakody RWP USP, Deputy Commander of Security Forces (West) and Colonel of the Regiment of SLSR, who attended as the Chief Guest.
Demonstrating exceptional performance and teamwork, the 1st Battalion of SLSR emerged as the overall champions, while the 4th Battalion of SLSR secured the Runners-up position. Lieutenant EAIA Wijesiri of the 6th Battalion of SLSR, was awarded the title of Best All-Round Officer, while Lance Corporal Gunarathne EMKL of the 14th Battalion, SLSR, was recognized as the Best All-Round Other Ranker.
Brigadier HAI Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, the Centre Commandant of SLSR, along with Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks, also participated in the event.
