The 34th commemoration of Kokavil Battle War Heroes took place on 11 July 2024 at the Kokavil Fallen War Heroes Monument premises.
During the ceremony, Captain S.U. Aladeniya (Late) PWV of the 3 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment was remembered. He was awarded the Parama Weera Vibhushanaya (PWV) for his valiant efforts, offering stiff resistance to the enemy with his fellow soldiers until his last breath on 11 July 1990.
Major General W.P.A.D.W. Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, attended the event as the Chief Guest. He honoured the heroic memory by placing a floral wreath.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and family members of the fallen War Heroes also paid their respects by placing floral wreaths.
