SLSR Colonel of the Regiment Visits 8 SLSR Battalion

Major General Kithsiri Liyanage, Commander Security Force – West and Colonel of the Regiment, the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment visited 8 Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), deployed in Kegalle on 08 March 2022.

The visiting Colonel of the Regiment was welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel Kumara Athukorala, Commanding Officer, 8 SLSR at the entrance after a drive-past Guard Turn Out in accordance with military traditions.

Afterward, the visiting Colonel of the Regiment planted a sapling before he addressed the troops of the battalion and discussed several administrative matters of the battalion. The Colonel of the Regiment during his address gave necessary instructions to elevate the standards of the profession of the troops while serving.

Meanwhile, after the Commanding Officer formal briefing, the Colonel of the Regiment opened the newly-built Gymnasium and Saloon which were long felt requirements of the battalion

Later, he was invited to sit for a group photograph before he opened the newly put up billiard room at 8 SLSR Officers’ mess.

Subsequently, the Colonel of the Regiment sat for an all rank lunch bringing the itinerary of his official visit to an end. He also left some complimentary remarks in the Visitors' Book.
