Raising of the Army flag and the Regimental flag, Recital of the National Anthem and the Regimental song, Reading of the state allegiance oath, and the Commander’s message were among the major features of the day’s simple arrangement at the Regimental Centre.
To mark the commencement, Colonel Dulitha Perera, Deputy Centre Commandant, and Lieutenant Colonel Aruna Kulasinghe, General Staff Officer I, RC SLSR hoisted the Army flag and the Regimental flag respectively as a parade of Senior Officers and Other Ranks looked on. Singing of the National Anthem and the Regimental Song by all present at the venue afterward set the stage ready to pay tribute to the memory of all fallen War Heroes with a two-minute silence.
The day’s sequence culminated with an all-Ranks tea party at Other Ranks Mess. All Staff Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks serving in the RC SLSR were present in the brief ceremony.
