Troops of 20 SLSR Launches Tree Planting Project with Civilian

To synchronize with the government’s national tree planting campaign troops of 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment organized a tree planting project with government employees of the area on 08 March 2021 at Kukulkatuwa Wewa reservoir in Kataragama.

The programme, organized under the auspices of Lieutenant Colonel C S Serasinghe Commanding Officer 20 SLSR, was attended by Colonel D U N Serasinghe, Commander 121 Infantry Brigade, Mr, A M Nandasiri, Divisional Secretory, Kataragama, Members of Government Office and civil organization in the area with the 20 SLSR troops. The day’s ceremony began with ‘Pirith’ chanting by Maha Sanga.

All the invitees and participants planted more than 300 saplings including ‘Kumbuk, Mee (Madhuca longifolia) and Ceylon Oak (Schleichera oleosa)’ in the ‘Kukulkatuwa’ Wewa reservoir in Kataragama.
