Seva Vanitha Unit of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment organized a scholarship programme for children in the families of disabled, dead war heroes and civil employees on Saturday (25) at Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment auditorium on the directions of President Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Priyamali Mudannayake, Major General Manoj Mudannayake Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment also graced the occasion.
The President of Sinha Seva Vanitha unit and the Colonel of the Regiment SLSR were warmly welcomed by the students at the entrance of the main Auditorium Regimental Centre SLSR.
Subsequently, the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests lit the traditional oil lamp and inaugurated the proceedings.
Under the patronage of the Mr. Emal Gunasekara, Managing Director of Earl's Court Group, 49 students were received scholarships worth of Rs.6000/= for each.
The day’s event culminated with a lecture on “Relationship between Children and Parents” conducted by the Dr. Methmali Munasinghe.
The Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Brigadier Ajith Pallawela along with senior officers, officers, members of Sinha Seva Vanitha Unit, Other Ranks and Civil employees were also presented at the venue.
