OUTGOING COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT ACCORDED MILITARY SALUTE

Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment bid farewell to its outgoing Colonel of the Regiment, Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu on 25th October 2019 who retired after serving over 35 years in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army.

Ceremony was held in a customary way at Regimental Centre, Ambepussa. The commencement of the ceremony marked by a Guard Turnout at the main entrance and a ceremonial parade with the participation of all Battalions of the Sinha Regiment at the parade ground, in honour of the outgoing Colonel of the regiment.

The event followed by paying obeisance to the fallen Sinha Regiment war heroes at the Regimental Monument, unveiling of portrait statue, signing of handing over book and tea party at WOs’ and Sgts' Mess in customary manner.

The evening session also textured with the “Mess Night” hosted in honor of the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment by all Officers of the Sinha Regiment at the Officers' Mess. Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu commented in his speeches at the WOs' and Sgts' Mess tea party and at officers mess “Mess Night” that extending his heartfelt gratitude for the generous assistance offered many ways by all Officers and Other Ranks during his military career. Senior Officers, Officers and Spouses were among the participants.
