TRIBUTE TO FALLEN WAR HEROES AT ANNUAL COMMEMORATION CEREMONY - 2018

The Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment commemorated fallen war heroes on 18^th and 19^th August 2018, giving pride of place to next of kin and children of war heroes.

Major General A P de Z Wickramaratne RWP ndu psc Colonel of the Regiment graced the occasion as the Chief Guest on the invitation of Brigadier A P Pallawela RWP RSP the Centre Commandant. The event organized for the 29th consecutive year, paid floral tributes to the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment memorial at the premises and transferred merits to 143 Officers and 3719 Other Rankers who made supreme sacrifice while defending the country's territorial integrity.

Subsequently the Colonel of the Regiment also shared a couple of views with the family members of the War Heroes presented and the Colonel of the Regiment distributed Special mementos among the family members of PWV war heroes.

In the afternoon, religious services representing Catholic, Hindu and Islamic faiths got underway at separate sacred places in Warakapola and the ceremony was terminated with an overnight Pirith followed by an alms giving ceremony on 19^th morning.

Retired Senior SLSR Officers, Senior Serving Officers and enormous Officers and Other Ranks were also participated for the event.
