COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT IN HIS FORMAL UNIT VISIT TO 9, 23, 11 BATTALIONS

Maj General Piyal Wickramaratne Colonel of the Regiment on Thursday (19) making his Second stage of formal visit to the 9 SLSR Gothameegama, Katharagama. 23 SLSR Sengamuwa, Pothuvil and 11 (V) SLSR in Kurukkalmadam, Baticaloa met a representative gathering of the all ranks and exchanged views on different welfare aspects of the troops.

The day’s itinerary got to a start after warmly welcomed the visiting Colonel of the Regiment to 9 SLSR at Katharagama by Maj Rasanga Udage Commanding officer 9 SLSR. In conformity with military formalities, guard turnout presented by the troops of 9 ^th BN SLSR greeted the day’s Chief Guest.

Adding memories and significance to the Colonel of the Regiment arrival at the 9^th Bn SLSR, he planted a sapling inside the camp premises.

Towards the end of the day’s proceedings the Colonel of the Regiment placed his signature in the visitors’ book and left some thought.

According to the visit plane next destination was 23^rd Battalion SLSR Sengamuwa, Pothuvil. Visiting Colonel of the Regiment warmly welcomed by Lt Col Kumara Ranatungamage Commanding Officer 23 SLSR

According to the day’s programme visiting Colonel of the Regiment Attended with tree planting, CO’s briefing, troops address and at the end of the day departure from the battalion.
