One more differently - able War Hero of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, who turned physically handicapped during the fight against LTTE terrorism, tied nuptial knots at Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Ambepussa on Thursday (24). Organized by the Sinha Seva Vanitha Branch under the guidance of Colonel of the Regiment Major General Piyal Wickramaratne and President Sinha Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs. Ruwani Sujeewa Wickramaratne.
Ranaviru Seva Authority Chairperson Mrs. Anoma Fonseka together with Major General Piyal Wickramaratne Colonel of the Regiment SLSR was the attesting witness for marriage registration on behalf of bride and bridegroom.
The glittering wedding ceremony of Sergeant Ekanayake EAS of 7 SLSR is residents under recuperation and rehabilitation at "Abimansala - 3" Pangolla, Kurunegala.
Poruwa Ceremonies, registration, wedding cake cutting, exchange of gifts with parents, etc adorned the wedding spirits since arrival of bride and bridegroom at the auspicious minute.
Bridegroom, Sergeant Ekanayake EAS of 7 SLSR, sustained injuries during a head - on clash with LTTE terrorists in Periyamadu and turned physically disabled. His disability however did not pose any bar to his unfailing romance with Madumi Lanka Hemamali in Ihala Mabula.
