The handing over ceremony of a new house to the family of a disable war hero was held at Harankawa, Mawanella on 18th February 2017.
This newly constructed house was presented by Mrs. Lalee Kobbekaduwa, Wife of late Major General Densil Kobbekaduwa RWP RSP VSV USP rcds psc to S/367864 Sgt Jeewaka bandara URM - 8 SLSR who was disabled during the Humanitarian Operation.
The 2nd Battallion, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment offered labour for the construction of this house & financial assistance was given by the Densil Kobbekaduwa Foundation.
This project has coordinated by Lieutenant Colonel M M Vimalasurendra & the house was completed with the guidance of Brigadier Lalith Ratnayake, Commandant of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment & the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel BAP Liyanage RWP RSP USP, Commanding Officer of Headquarter Battalion - SLSR.
During this event, a refrigerator (two doors), washing machine & LED TV were donated by Mrs. Lalee Kobbekaduwa to this new house.
