With work related to the resettlement in progress the troops of the Battalion constructed houses, repaired & renovated school buildings, repaired & renovated kovils, provided meals and conducted medical camps all this to bring about benefit to the people of the area.
Troops engaged in civil-military coordination activities
In the view of wining the hearts and minds of the people of the area and also aimed at relieving the mental stress experienced people caused by being exposed to the conflict the Battalion organized and conducted several sports events as well as traditional cultural & religious festivals/events.
On 6th February 2013, Lieutenant Colonel MMT Bandara took over duties as the Commanding Officer.

The Battalion formed a Disaster Management Platoon and is fully equipped and trained to face any eventuality.
