WORLD\'S END RESCUER & HIS TEAM FELICITATED AT TOURISM BUREAU CEREMONY
Mr. Rohantha Athukorala, Chairman, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau after inviting Sergeant Lalinda, his team members, including an Airman who assisted the rescue operation on February 21, presented special tokens of appreciation to them and praised them for their bravery and the reputation the act, brought to the country.\r\n\r\nChairman and the staff spoke high of their exemplary bravery and profusely thanked them for their commitment and life-risking adventure.\r\n\r\nMajor General E.M.M. Ambanpola, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, Commanding Officer - 3 SLSR, Sergeant Lalinda\'s wife and children and senior officials were present at the occasion.\r\n\r\nOn Wednesday (25), the Commander of the Army in a fitting ceremony, promoted the rescuer Corporal Lalinda to the rank of Sergeant and gave away appreciation certificates to him and his team who were associated with the rescue.
