Troops of Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (RC SLSR) organized a two days’ workshop to educate the soldiers on ‘Bee-Keeping’ during 21 - 22 June 2022 on the instructions of Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Commander, Security Force – East and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR.
Mr. Tissa Bandara Thambavita, Secretary of the 'Bingu Resource Protection Organization' conducted the awareness session on beekeeping and the aim of this particular programme was to provide an additional source of income to the soldiers. The programme was coordinated by Colonel Hemantha Perera, Colonel Coord (Volunteer) 22 Infantry Division.
More than 60 Other Ranks from the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 7 Soldiers from the Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock, and 3 Solders form Security Force - Vanni participated in the workshop.
Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala, Centre Commandant RC SLSR closely supervised and instructed to provide the necessary assistance for the workshop.
