Troops of HQ Bn SLSR Initiate a Coconut Planting Project

‘Sinha Diriya Piyasa’ Projects Centre, Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Ambepussa initiated two projects to grow Coconut and Mushrooms on 14 July 2022 and Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala, the Centre Commandant SLSR graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with a few Staff Officers.

5,000 Coconut saplings were planned to plant inside the camp premises and the Centre Commandant visited the Mushrooms project and scheduled project sites for manufacturing of Coconut Oil, and Soap. The necessary instructions were given by Center Commandant further to expedite the projects.

With the view to enhancing the welfare facilities of the soldiers, all these projects were planned and carried out under the instructions of the Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Commander Security Force - East and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR.
