Troops of 7 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment organized a Children’s Day Programme for Preschool Children living in Bogaswewa I, Bogaswewa II, and Namalgama areas. The programme was held at the Bogaswewa Dam premises on 30 September 2022. Similarly, the children of the Selalihinigama, Nandimitragama and Etabagaskada also participated in the programme. The Children were distributed gift packs, provided Lunch and they enjoyed the fun-making games and were entertained by the music to make Children’s Day meaningul.
The donation programme was organized with the initiative taken by the General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division, Major General H. G. P. M Kariyawasam, and with the financial contribution of Mr Fairuuz (Karapincha Production Pvt. Ltd.).
The Commanding Officer 7 SLSR, Lieutenant Colonel M. A. J. M Perera closely supervised the event. The Civil Affairs Officer of the 563 Infantry Brigade, Major P. D. D. S Kumara, Several Officers, Soldiers, Teachers and parents participated in the event.
