The 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (20 SLSR) which is committed to assist upgrade educational standards of poverty-stricken children in remote areas once again launched a programme to give away school essentials to 25 students in Siripuragama and Devatan Ara pre Schools, in Wellawaya area on Thursday (01) October 2020.
This project was implemented with the guidance of Commander 121 Brigade under the patronage of philanthropist of the area and those gift packets, inclusive of exercise books, school bags, water bottles, realia, shoe voucher etc. Beneficiaries were carefully selected by the troops in consultation with school authorities and Grama Seva officers.
Under this project, 25 students received the gifts packs during the distribution ceremony, presided by Commander 121 Brigade, Commanding Officer 20 SLSR. Grama Seva Officer, Samurdi Officer, midwife, teachers and parents also attended the event.
