In line with the honour of 73rd Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army (Army day), troops of 11 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment with the sponsorship of Mr Thanoj Biyagama and members of the ‘Api Manussayo’ association, distributed 75 dry ration packets each worth Rs. 5,000.00 to the needy families who live in the Mangalagama, Keviliyamadu, Thanthamale areas of the Gemunupura GS Division. Meantime, 31 pregnant women’s in the area also received a gift pack each worth Rs.10, 000.00 in a programme which was held at Sri Dharmarama Viharaya, Mangalagama on 03 October 2022.
The event was organized on the instructions of the Commander 231 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier W. M. N. K. D Bandara and coordinated by the social workers of Mrs Shashikala Gunarathne and Madhara Ranaweera.
The Civil Affairs Officer 231 Infantry Brigade Lieutenant Colonel Dammika Weerasinghe, Overlooking Commanding Officer 11 (V) SLSR Major Asela Yapa, soldiers, and residents of the area also participated in the event.
