The Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment commemorated fallen war heroes on 24th and 25th August 2019, giving pride of place to next of kin and children of fallen war heroes.
Major General M K D Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu Colonel of the Regiment graced the occasion as the Chief Guest on the invitation of Brigadier A P Pallawela RWP RSP the Centre Commandant. The event organized for the 27th consecutive year, paid floral tributes to the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment memorial at the premises and transferred merits to 144 Officers and 3720 Other Rankers who made supreme sacrifice while defending the country's territorial integrity.
Subsequently, religious services representing Catholic, Hindu and Islamic faiths got underway at separate sacred places in Warakapola and the ceremony was terminated with an overnight pirith chanting ceremony followed by an alms giving ceremony on 25th morning.
Retired Senior Officers, Senior Serving Officers, enormous Officers and Other Ranks were also participated for the event.
