The preparatory Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) competition at Minneriya selected the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment's (SLSR) ‘A’ team as the best group winning the Championship while the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) ‘B’ team was adjudged as the second-best. The Gajaba Regiment team secured third place and thus qualified to participate in the forthcoming PATS competition.
