As per the direction of Commander of the Army Lieutenant General A W J C De Silva RWP VSV USP ndu psc, Sri Lanka Army Officers\' Marathon was successfully held on 6th March 2016 at Meepe. A gathering of about 500 officers in the ranks of 2/Lieutenants, Lieutenants, Captains, Majors, Lieutenant Colonels, Colonels and Brigadiers together with the Commander of the Army.
19 officers represented the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment in the event and the SLSR achievers as follows,
Brigadier Rank - Brigadier D.M.H.D. Bandara - 1st Place
Colonel Rank - Colonel D.M.P.D. Dissanayake - 3rd Place
Lieutenant Colonel Rank - Lieutenant Colonel M.M.T. Bandara - 3rd Place
Captain Rank - Captain K.P.W.R.K. Pathirana - 1st Place
