Sri Lank Sinha Regiment Conducts an Officers’ Training Day

Officers’ Training Day of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) was held on 27 June 2025 at the Regimental Centre, Ambepussa, with the participation of the Deputy Commander of Security Forces (West) and Colonel of the Regiment of SLSR, Major General J K R Jayakody RWP USP, along with senior officers and officers of the SLSR. The Colonel of the Regiment emphasized the importance of training and the need to be prepared for future challenges through continuous and effective training during the session.

The day commenced with a Physical Training session, followed by Sword Drill practices, and continued with lectures on ‘Personal Financial Management’ by Major M K S De Silva SLAGSC and ‘Current Development in the Indian Ocean: Implication for Sri Lanka’ by Captain (C) A G M P K Wijenayake RSP,psc,ptsc from Sri Lanka Navy, a Directing Staff at Defence Services Command and Staff College, Sapugaskanda. In the evening, a friendly cricket tournament was organized, fostering camaraderie among the officers and senior officers.

The day concluded with the Diners’ Club held at the Officers’ Mess, featuring an insightful and timely lecture on ‘Current Geographical Situation and Its Impact’, delivered by Prof. Nilanthan Niruthan.
