To commemorate the World Women’s day, Sinha Seva Vanitha Unit, of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment organized an eye clinic at Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Ambepussa on 11 March 2021.
This eye clinic mainly treated families of SLSR war heroes and was managed by several eye surgeons, headed by Consultant Eye Surgeon District General Hospital Avissawella Dr. Damayanthi Samarasinghe MD Ophthalmology, Eye Surgeon District General Hospital Mirigama Dr. M. P. G Marasinghe, Eye Surgeon District General Hospital Gampaha, Dr. M. S. M Priyadarshani and staff members.
This programme was initiated on the instructions of the President Sinha Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Shiromi Bandara. Several Members of Sinha Seva Vanitha Unit, Brigadier Dammika Dissanayake, Centre Commandant Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Officers and Several Other Ranks also participated in the eye clinic.
More than 100 family members of the war heroes in the area received medical consultations during the clinic.
