contributing their share to the annual commemoration of the 73rd National Independence Day, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) on Thursday (4) marked the day with elaborate arrangements, such as flag-hoisting, observance of a two-minute silence in honor of all patriots and War Heroes, reading of the Commander's message on Independence Day, symbolic tree planting gestures and watching of live telecast of the main ceremony from Colombo Independence Square, etc.
Meanwhile, troops of 14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment celebrated the 73rd National Independence Day conducting a community project. They cleaned the Oddusudan Regional Hospital premises with the participation of Officers and Other Ranks. On the instruction and the guidance of Lieutenant Colonel Charith Athuldoraarachchi, Commanding Officer 14 SLSR, troops carried out the cleaning program, and at the end of the program, troops provided lunch for the hospital staff.
