The Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Regimental HQ at Ambepussa on 16 July 2023 in a fitting ceremony extended a formal farewell to the retiring Brigadier USNK Perera RSP USP upon completion of nearly 34 years of valuable service to the organization.
The formalities observed at the SLSR Regimental HQ included a Guard Turnout, accorded by SLSR troops soon after he arrived at the entrance in keeping with military traditions. After a while, a ceremonial parade saluted him before he made a floral tribute to the SLSR War Heroes’ monument in the Regimental HQ and saluted the memory of fallen War Heroes.
Afterwards, the retiring Senior Officer joined All Ranks for refreshments at the main auditorium before he posed for a group photograph. A lunch treat with All Ranks brought the day’s proceedings to an end after the exchange of mementoes.
Major General G R R P Jayawardena RWP RSP ndu, Quarter Master General and Colonel of the Regiment of SLSR presented a memento to the outgoing Senior Officer as a symbolic appreciation of his dedicated and committed services.
At the same occasion, Mrs Omila Jayawardena , Chairperson, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, awarded a special memento to Mrs Lasika Nadee Munasinghe, the spouse of the retiring Senior Officer.
Brigadier USNK Perera RSP USP spoke to All Officers gathered and expressed his gratitude for the assistance and support given by all in carrying out his duties as a member of the Sinha Clan.
Senior Officers including Council members, Staff Officers, Officers of the SLSR, and their spouses took part in the day's proceedings.
