Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) on 11 August 2022 in a fitting goodbye ceremony at the Regimental Centre in Ambepussa bid farewell to Brigadier I H M T H Senarathne who retired from the Army after a distinguished career of more than 33 years of service.
On arrival at the Regimental Centre, Brigadier Thushan Senarathne was warmly welcomed near the Truncheon house by Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala, Centre Commandant and invited to review the Guard Turnout.
Later, Centre Commandant accompanied him to pay the floral tributes to the SLSR War Heroes' monument and joined all ranks refreshments at the main Auditorium at RC SLSR and he shared his views with the attendees.
Thereafter, he was hosted to a formal Lunch at the Regimental Officers’ Mess in accordance with military traditions where the departing Senior Officer was presented with a special memento by Major General Dharshana Wijesekara, General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division in the absence of the Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Commander Security Force East and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR due to official commitments.
Brigadier Thushan Senarathne delivered a farewell speech and conveyed his sincere thanks to all Officers and the Other Ranks for supporting him during the tenure of his military service.
