The finals of the Army Inter Regiment Para Archery Tournament were held at the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) in Ambepussa on 08 July 2022 which organized by the Headquarters Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.
Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala, Centre Commandant, SLSR graced the awarding Ceremony as the Chief Guest along with all the Staff officers of the Regimental Centre SLSR. Teams representing SLLI, SLSR, GW, GR, VIR and SF Regiments participated in the finals of the Para Archery Championship.
The Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Team (SLSR) defeated the Sri Lanka Light Infantry team to secure the trophy as Army Para Archery Champions for 2022.
On his arrival, the Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Headquarters Battalion SLSR, Lieutenant Colonel Kamal Ganarathne. During the awarding ceremony, the Best Archer of the Army Para Archery Champions – 2022, was received by Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) W. A. J. N Weerathunga of SLSR from the Chief Guest.
Major General (Retd) H. R Wickramasinghe and Colonel Wajira Amarasiri gave away the medals to the recipients at the ceremony just before the Chief Guest presented the award to the Champion of the tournament.
Colonel Wajira Amarasiri, the Deputy Center Commandant RC SLSR, Staff Officers of the RC SLSR, Members of the Sri Lanka National Archery Association and Para Archery Committee, together with the members of the Para Archery Committee, Officers and Other Ranks witnessed the finals.
