SLSR-SVU Helping Hand to Differently Abled children home at Bothale

Following the instructions of Mrs. Shiromi Bandara, President Sinha Seva Vanitha Unit, troops of Headquarters Battalion in the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment conducted a Shramadana Campaign to re-paint and cleanup the surroundings at ‘Ape Lamai’ Differently Abled Children’s home, Bothale in Ambepussa day prior (31 Aug 2020) to the celebrations of the world Children’s Day.

Subsequently, in line with the World children’s day, SLSR-SVU organized a programme to give out scholarships to the children of Army war heroes. During the programme 03 students who obtained 9-A passes at the G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination - 2019 received scholarships on the 01st of October 2020.

Simultaneously, they organized a Lunch for Differently Abled Children at ‘Ape Lamai’ Children’s home. Sinha Seva Vanitha Unit donated essential equipment for Children’s home under the patronage of Singer Sri Lanka.

In the evening, a musical fiesta was organized by the SLSR troops to encourage the differently abled children’s aesthetic and singing skills.

During the programme, Brigadier Dammika Dissanayake, Centre Commandant SLSR, Colonel Dulith Perera, Deputy Centre Commandant SLSR, Mrs. Rohini Dissanayake, Secretary SLSR-SVU, and several SLSR-SVU members graced the occasion with their participation.
