The Army Para Cycle and Wheelchair Marathon Races – 2022 kicked off from Rambewa, Anuradhapura on 03 June 2022 morning as part of the ongoing Sri Lanka Army Inter Regiment Para Games competitions.
Para Cycle and Wheelchair Marathon Races for 2022 were organized by the Headquarters Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment (GR) at Anuradhapura.
Corporal G. P. I. R Kumara of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment became First in the Para Cycle Race 2022 which was totally covering a distance of more than 55Km. Competitors of Gajaba Regiment and Gemunu Watch have adjudged the second and third places respectively.
Meantime, Lance Corporal G. G. S Galahitiyawa of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment was adjudged third place in the Inter Regiment Para Wheelchair Marathon which covered a phase of more than 23 km.
Major General J. J Kodithuwakku, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army graced the awarding ceremony as the Chief Guest and Major General D. G. S Senerathyapa, Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Chairman Sri Lanka Army Para Committee awarded the certificates and awards to the winners in a simple prize awarding ceremony.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Rankers and Para Competitors witnessed the event at Anuradhapura.
