SLSR Seva Vanitha Branch Launched Mega School Accessories Donation Programme

Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch organized school accessories donation programme for the kids of fallen war heroes’ families, wounded war heroes, presently serving and civil staffers of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment this morning (13).

Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, President of Army Seva Vanitha Unit graced as the Chief Guest of the programme with the invitation of Mrs. Omila Jayawardena, Chairperson Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Seva Vanitha Unit.

This project was launched under the direction of the Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Quarter Master General and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR to donate school bags and books for 1365 students among 595 families of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment members. The worth of this donation is Rs 2,000,000/= contributed by Senior Officers of SLSR, Officers of SLSR and the members of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Seva Vanitha branch.

Mrs. Omila Jayawardena, Chairperson SLSRSVB welcomed the Chief Guest and Mrs. Nethmini Muthumala secretary SLSRSVB delivered the welcome speech at the venue after the lighting of the traditional oil lamp to signify the inauguration of the event.

100 students received their consignment of school accessories during today's event from the Chief Guest and other gathered senior officers and members of the SLSRSVB .

Meantime, President Army Seva Vanitha Branch visited the “Diriya piyasa” projects centre of the Sinha Seva Vanitha branch during her stay at the RHQ SLSR.

At the end of the day’s programme Mrs. Janaki Liyanage made a complimentary note on the visitor's book and Mrs. Omila Jayawardena, chairperson of SLSRSVB awarded a special memento to the president Army Seva Vanitha unit as a token of memory.
