SLSR Recruits Training School-Groomed 217 New Recruits Pass Out

A total of 217 new recruits trained at the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Recruits Training School at Kegalle under the Recruit Batch - No 33 passed out on 31 March 2022 (Thursday) during a colourful parade.

Those recruits of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps and Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock saluted the Chief Guest, Major General Kithsiri Liyanage, Commander Security Force – West and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR in the formal parade at the parade ground with the presence of their parents and relatives.

Those new recruits received a four-month-long training at the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Training School under the close supervision and direction of Major S. M. A. T Samarakoon, Commandant at the Training Centre who also served as the chief instructor for the Course.

The 3rd platoon in the Course was adjudged the best while 2nd Lieutenant B. M. S. D Jayasundara of the Sri Lanka National Guard was selected as the Best Platoon Commander. Sergeant R. M Rathnayake was the Best Platoon Sergeant and Corporal K. M. S Sanjeewa of Gajaba Regiment was selected as the Best Physical training instructor of the course.

Recruit B. G. A. D Rupasinghe received Best Shot and Recruit G. D. K Thisaru received Best Recruit awards while Recruit K. B. K. D Gayashan carried the Best in Physical Training award. They received those awards from the day’s Chief Guest.

Colonel Dulitha Perera, Deputy Centre Commandant RC SLSR, several Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, parents and relatives of those recruits were present at the Passing Out Parade.
