SLSR EMERGED AS RUNNER UP IN INTER REGIMENT HANDBALL TOURNAMENT

The Inter Regiment Handball Tournament concluded on 31 December at Gymnasium, Army Cantonment, Panagoda with the participation of 100 sportsmen representing 09 Regiments.

The final tussle between Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) teams saw victory clinched by handball players of the VIR after neck to neck competition with the marks 40/39. The trophies were presented to the winners by the Chief Guest, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, and Commander of the Army and gathered senior Officers.

Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Quarter Master General and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR, Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala, Centre Commandant SLSR, Colonel Wajira Amarasiri, Deputy Centre commandant and a few senior officers attend the venue.
