SLSR COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT VISITS HIS BATTALIONS

Major General Kithsiri Liyanage, Commander Security Force – (West) and Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment visited 4th, 9th and 6th Battalions of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), deployed respectively in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, and Paranthan areas on 19 February 2022.

The visiting Colonel of the Regiment was welcomed by Major Niroshan Dawlagala, Commanding Officer, 4 SLSR at the entrance after a Guard Turnout.

Afterward, the visiting Colonel of the Regiment planted a sapling at the camp premises and he addressed the troops of the battalion and discussed several administrative requirements of the battalion with Major Niroshan Dawlagala, Commanding Officer 4 SLSR.

Meanwhile, Major General Kithsiri Liyanage also visited the 9th SLSR battalion headquarters at Kilinochchi in the same day (19) and he was warmly welcomed by Major Viraj Dissanayake, Commanding Officer 9 SLSR. Later, he was invited to plant a sapling as a gesture of memory before he paused for a group photograph.

Thereafter, Colonel of the Regiment visited 6th SLSR battalion headquarters on the same day evening at Paranthan where Major Buddika Subasinghe, Commanding Officer 6 SLSR welcomed him amidst simple military formalities. During these visits addressing the troops the Colonel of the Regiment instructed them to elevate the standards of the profession while serving.

Several Senior Officers of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment who are representing the Field Formations of the particular areas also joined the visits.

The Battalion Commanders never forgot to give away mementos to the visiting Colonel of the Regiment on his goodwill of visits.
