Major General Hemantha Bandara, Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment paid his official visit to the 14 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment in Puthukkudiyiruppu, 24 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment in Alampil And 5 (Volunteer) Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment in Andankulam on (Wednesday) 06 January 2021.
The Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by Major Athuldoraarachchi Commanding Officer 14 SLSR. A formal Guard Turnout welcomed Colonel of the Regiment and planting a sapling followed by a group photograph, formal briefing, troops address, all rank tea party and a camp visit.
Thereafter, Colonel of the Regiment arrived at the 24 Battalion of SLSR in Alampil and the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Ruwan Rodrigo warmly welcomed the visiting Colonel of the Regiment. Then, the Colonel of the Regiment was greeted by the Guard Turnout at the entrance. Thereafter, Commanding Officer conducted a presentation on the function of the 24 SLSR. Afterwards, the visiting Colonel of the Regiment was invited for a troops address.
Later on, the Colonel of the Regiment visited the 5 (V) Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (5 (V) SLSR). The Commanding Officer – 5 SLSR, Major Rashinthake Athauda warmly welcomed the visiting Colonel of the Regiment at the entrance and invited him to plant a sapling to mark his first official visit to the battalion. Thereafter, the Commanding Officer – 5 SLSR conducted a presentation on the functions of the Battalion. Colonel of the Regiment addressed all Officers and Other Ranks of the Battalion. Then, he visited the camp area and inspected the facilities available for soldiers. Concluding the day's event Colonel of the Regiment penned his thoughts in the Visitors' Book.
