SLSR Colonel of the Regiment Visits – 8th Battalion SLSR

Major General Priyantha Jayawardena conducted his maiden visit to 8th Battalion SLSR located in Beragala, Kegalle on Tuesday (15) after assumed duties as the Colonel of the Regiment.

The visiting of Col of the Regt was welcome by the Maj Ajith Ekanayake, CO -8th Battalion SLSR the entrance to the Battalion HQ an invited to review the military honored guard turnout presented by the Troops.

After words Major General Priyantha Jayawardena planted a Ironwood sapling at the Camp premises to mark the visit. Subsequently he listened to the briefing conducted by the Commanding Officer on his Battalion present Responsibilities entrusted.

During the Troop address, Colonel of the Regiment highlighted the important of maintain high standard discipline and training of Troops in the Battalion. Further he emphasis the important of training of the Troops in the Battalion.

Further he inquired and closely inspected the ongoing and existing constructions and the lay out of the battalion during his visit.

Days proceedings were concluded with the signing of Visitors’ book in the Battalion. Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala, Center Commandant RC SLSR and other Officers’ attended to the visit.
