Major General Hemantha Bandara, Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and the General Officer Commanding 12 Division made his official visits to 12 SLSR in Vellankulam, 15(Volunteer) SLSR in Vellankulam, Peryawalayankaddu, 16 Battalion of SLSR in Karappakutti,Vavuniya, 7 Battalion of SLSR in Bogasweva, 21 battalion of SLSR in Omanthei and 17 (Volunteer) Battalion of SLSR in Kompawiththi Kulam during 07 and 08 of January 2021.
The Colonel of the Regiment arrived at the 12 SLSR was warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel Thushara De Silvaa, Commanding Officer. Thereafter, a customary Guard Turnout was presented to the visiting Colonel of the Regiment.
Subsequently, the Colonel of the Regiment was accompanied to the CO’s Office Commanding Officer conducted a formal briefing to the visiting Colonel of the Regiment. Followed by a formal troop address, he planted a sapling and posed a group photograph. An All Rank tea culminated the day's arrangement after he left memories in the Visitors' Book.
Later on , the visiting Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by Major Mahinda Attanayake, Commanding Officer of the 15 (V) SLSR upon his arrival there. Accordingly, a Guard Turnout presented at the main entrance greeted him on his arrival.
A group photograph followed a formal briefing, troop address, planting of a sapling and a visit inside the camp premises, earmarked as highlights of the itinerary. Afterwards, he left some complimentary remarks in the Visitors' Book.
Meanwhile, Major General Hemantha Bandara made his first official visit to the 16 SLSR. The Colonel of the Regiment arrived at the 16 SLSR in Kilinochchi was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Major Sachintha Sooriya Bandara. A formal Guard Turnout was presented to the visiting Colonel of the Regiment.
Commanding Officer conducted a presentation on operational and administrative matters of the battalion. Colonel of the Regiment addressed all Officers and Other Ranks of the 16 SLSR. The Colonel of the Regiment planted a sapling to mark his first official visit to the Battalion.
