SLSR Bagged Bronze Medal in the 6th South Asian Karate Championship

The 6th South Asian Karate Championship was held on 28 November at Sugathadasa indoor stadium in Colombo with the participation of hundred plus competitors representing countries including India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.

For this year’s Championship two Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment participants represented Sri Lanka with courage and confidence. During the competition, Army Lance Corporal WML Sandaruwan of 15 (v) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment won the bronze medal in the men’s Kumite weight class 50kg event.

The participants including medalist were warmly welcomed to the regimental centre on 12 December and applauds their achievement and participation by the Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala Centre Commandant RHQ SLSR on behalf of Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Quarters Master General army headquarters and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR.
