SLSR Adds Its Share To 'Poson'

Coincident with the ‘Poson Poya’ Day, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops, together with the SLSR Ex-servicemen's Association organized an alms-giving on 03 June 2023 to commemorate fallen war heroes at Senanayake Muchalindaramaya temple, Ambepussa.

In addition, a free eatery stall (Rice Dansela) was opened near the Ambepussa Railway Station in the evening. Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Quarter Master General and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR, together with Mrs Omila Jayawardena, Chairperson, SLSR Seva Vanitha Branch graced as the chief guest for the inauguration of the ‘Dansela’. Nearly 3500 people in and around the area enjoyed the free treat.

These programmes were organized under the guidance of the Colonel of the Regiment and under the close supervision of Brigadier Chaminda Thibbotuge, SLSR Centre Commandant
