Scholarships for student in military families to the value of more than Rs 2 million were distributed in a ceremony, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment auditorium on Sunday (2 ), headed by Mrs Shiromi masakorala , president Sinha Seva Vanitha Unit as the Chief guest.
The Sinha Seva Vanitha president was welcomed by a daughter and a son, followed by Mrs Padmini pallawela, secretary Sinha Seva Vanitha Unit and members. Subsequently, the chief guest and other distinguished guests lit the traditional oil lamp and inaugurated the proceedings.
During this scholarship awarding ceremony, 75 students were awarded scholarship to the Value of Rs 30000.00, 11 students were awarded gift vouchers and Stationery to the value of Rs 4000.00 respectively to support continuation of their Studies.
The day’s event culminated with the lecture, Importance of early Childhood development and understanding adolescence by the President Sinha Seva Vanitha Unit.
