A wide assortment of gifts, including 20 wheel chairs and sum of Rs: 200,000.00 to Ranaviru Seva Authority, 8 water purifiers for soldiers who are suffering from kidney failures, stationary worth of Rs: 7,000.00 for 40 students who passed the GCE (O/L) and (A/L) examinations, special bed worth of Rs: 185,000.00 for the daughter of Sergeant Alexander PGIB, who is disable by birth, Electric Organ and scholarship worth of Rs: 15,000.00 for five students donated by Sinha Seva Vanitha Unit (SSVU) at the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Ampeussa on Saturday (27) January 2018.
At the invitation of Mrs. Ruwini Sujeewa Wickramaratne, President, SSVU, Mrs. Anoma Fonseka, the President of Ranaviru Seva Authority and Founder of Senehasa Education Resource Research & Information Centre (SERRIC) as the Chief Guest, graced the occasion for distribution of those appreciative gifts to a representative group of War Heroes and Ranaviru family members. During the event Mrs. Anoma Fonseka addressed the gathering and stated that it is the first time donation is received from Army to Ranaviru Seva Authority.
The Colonel of the Regiment Major General A P de Z Wickramaratne RWP ndu psc, Centre Commandant, staff officers of the Regimental Centre, officers and other ranks and Ranaviru family members attended for the event. The event was coloured by several musical and dancing features, presented by Army Dancing Troupe and Derana Little Star competitor.
